Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed    (2 Timothy 2:15, KJV)

CHILD ABUSE POLICY in effect.
All adults working with children are screened and trained to prevent child abuse.

AWANA is an international, nondenominational, Bible centered youth organization that provides weekly clubs and programs for Kindergarteners through Fifth Grade boys and girls.  The acronym AWANA comes from the first letters of the phrase, “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV)

AWANA exists to reach children with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.  The priorities of AWANA also include scripture memory, reaching parents/families with the gospel, and training adults to minister to children.

AWANA at Springfield Baptist is made up of two clubs: SPARKS for the K-2nd grades and TRUTH AND TRAINING for the 3rd-5th Grades.  These two clubs meet Friday nights from 7pm to 9pm.  The typical club-meeting schedule looks like this

     7:00pm                  Opening

    7:10pm                  Club Handbook Time

    7:45pm                  Game Time

    8:20pm                  Snacks

    8:30pm                  Gospel Lesson

    8:55pm                  AWANA Store

    9:00pm                  Club time is over!

Children in AWANA earn points for their teams by remembering their Bibles, Handbooks, wearing their AWANA uniform, bringing friends, memorizing scripture verses, games, and much more.  These points are added up at the end of each club meeting and the winning team receives 1 AWANA Dollar that can be spent in the AWANA Store or banked for another week.

More information about our AWANA Clubs can be obtained through the church office at 610 543-8879 or at any scheduled club meeting.
